What do you consider an aggressive cut? I am stressing a bit about making weight for this next meet. I really don’t want to sacrifice too much strength, but looking for some tips on cutting 6-8lbs in 6 weeks! I know some muscle loss is inevitable, but any tips would be appreciated! (I can likely water cut some of this too but don’t want to put too much stress on the body)

LadyInTheArena This site is some kind of promotional site I’m not familiar with (don’t use the product or anything) but references a study I’ve read before and basically recommends 75% of TDEE. What you’re shooting for could be accomplished with the basic 500 calorie formula for cutting too.

LadyInTheArena You do power lifting though right? Would it make sense to just push for more strength in the next 6 weeks and compete in the higher weight class? If you were doing like a bikini comp, an aggressive cut would make more sense I would think, but you certainly know your sport best.

AelwxKraetorDraNator I don't do neither cuts or bulks, however, I've taken two survival courses, where we're basically left to starve in semi desertic tropical forest, obviously we successfully survived, but it was an ordeal every time, long story short, I lost about 5 kilos in a week, be it water or everything else, that is extreme enough for me, I'm not trained, but i say about a kilo a week is good until you reach maintenance, bouncing up and down can't be good in the long run, which is why I don't bulk or cut

Alcastive Intense Calories deficit, Intermittent Fasting, maximizing your VO2 max and maybe some fat burner combined with coffee, that's what I am doing and it's working for me the downside is high stress level up to 81, and unstable blood pressure 11/14

codyvb So, I coach wrestling and often have athletes that have to drop up to 10 pounds in a week.
If you're just wanting to make weight and let your body recover from lifting (no heavy exercise during this week), here's a 7-day diet that I've seen work many times:
