Hi! In 2 weeks I’ll have to get surgery on both hands because of carpal tunnel, so I won’t be able to workout for 3 to 5 weeks. Any ideas on how to cope with that to avoid too many muscle loss? I guess eating right and keep moving such as go for walks or elleptical training? I really don’t know 😅or only legdays 😂

Kogre Keep your protein intake on point. The second that drops while you're not doing resistance training your muscle will drop off you like it hates you.

leticiabriscoe Try wrist weights, move them further up your arms, near the elbow. You can do arm exercises that way without engaging your hands

Lcc112 You know I would lift and go super crazy in the gym since you see most of your gains are caused by your body resting and since your about to get some good rest by the time your hands recover you will be back in the gym! No difference between a lite lift n a heavy lift if you add enough reps on the lite side 😂😉

carlosfromspain You are not going to loose much in that time frame and anything you lose you will gain back in half the time so don't do anything stupid and don't risk CTS recovery for not waiting.

And you can still do lower body pin loaded machines and core, and keep your protein intake up not only reduce any minimal muscle loss but also for tissue repair and recovery from the surgery.

Alcastive Core exercises that doesn't require much pressure on your hands like leg raise, crunches, side bent, bodyweight squat etc.. To keep you fit during your recovery time and of course as mentioned keep your protein in check.
